The Silver Sands of Morar are a renowned string of sandy beaches either side of the village of Morar between Arisaig and Mallaig. Most are accessible on foot and offer stunning views, secluded dunes and turquoise water. I’m calling out the beach at Bourblach here because it sits north of the River Morar and a little away from the many sandy coves that pepper the coastline further south. I park just south of the village and follow a small underpass under the main Mallaig road, along a track and beside a white house before the wide beach comes into view.  It’s bigger than I expect and surprisingly deserted. I head across the sand and over a dune to find another wide bay.  It’s a beautiful spot and the Silver Sands beaches form inviting pockets across the water.
