305. Float Bay
OK, so this small beach in a very sheltered cove takes some getting to. I mistake the beach for Sandeel Bay which is much further up the coast, and which I know can only be accessed with a 20-minute clifftop walk. So once I’ve found somewhere to park along the single track road, I follow the overgrown path to the coast a few hundred yards to the south, expecting to cross the fields down to the bay. Unfortunately, a sharp and steep inlet blocks my route and although I can see the small beach below, I have to retrace my steps to rethink access. As it turns out, I find a private road leading directly down to the bay so I feel rather embarrassed to have made such a mess of what should’ve been a ten-minute road walk. A rather large modern home sits at the end of the road, looking out across the bay. Fortunately no-one is in so I take the opportunity to steal a few snaps.
