One of the most popular beaches for travellers on the North Coast 500 is the beach at Ceannebeine, which sits beside the coast road in the shadow of Beinn Ceannnabeinne and offers a couple of parking areas for a welcome pit stop. There are a few options to descend to the beach, the one that I took which requires a bit of scrambling, and the other that I returned by which passes more serenely past grazing sheep. I’m not a fan of this kind of stuff, but there is a huge zip wire running diagonally across one corner of the beach and I can’t possibly imagine why anyone would want to do this in such a beautifully unspoilt area.
