317. Sangomore Beach
1 October 2026
Just east of Durness Beach, in the corner of Sango Bay, lies the neat and tidy rectangle of Sangomore Beach. Like its larger and more popular neighbour next door, it takes a scramble down to reach the sand, but what is notable here is the enormous vertical rock face on the eastern edge of the bay, which on this morning is casting quite a shadow across most of the beach. At the ‘sunny’ end I potter around the rock pools before climbing back up.
