32. Kilvickeon Beach
These beaches on the south coast of the Ross of Mull and remote but spectacular. I imagine that Scoor Beach and Kilvickeon Beach are usually visited as a pair. Once you’ve negotiated the bumpy track at 5 mph to reach Kilvickeon cemetery, you can visit both beaches from the same car park. So for me, after the drama of Scoor Beach, it’s back to the car park, and then left past the rather beautiful chapel and small cemetery to the more expansive beach, resplendent with rocks, pools and grazing cattle. I decide not to spend too long here because the nervous cattle are giving me the side-eye and I’m sure they’re plotting a move to block off my return route. Respect the cow, I say.
