After skirting the western and southern coast of Kintyre, the main road leads through Campbeltown, the main hub of Kintyre, and up the beautiful east coast where sandy beaches come thick and fast. First up is Peninver, right by the main road, backed a few static homes and very accessible to all. It’s just as well, because minutes before arriving at the beach a big dark cloud drops its load right on top of my car. Fortunately, it was a short shower and the rain doesn’t return despite the angry skies. An impressive beach, with much to offer.
