46. Bellochantuy Beach
5 August 2022
I am sad to leave Gigha after an all too short 24 hours, but I leave with plenty of memories and mightily impressed with this small, friendly community island. But now it was time for part two of my trip – a circuit of the Kintyre peninsula. From Tayinloan, I head south along the west coast, past A’Chleit beach which had impressed me the day before, and onto the more open and expansive Bellochantuy. This is a wide, sandy beach with the Argyle Hotel at one end. It looks like a surfer’s and dog-walker’s paradise. Surprisingly on this warm, sunny morning, it is completely empty.
