45. Ardminish Beach

After hot-footing it back from the south of the island I checked out of the Gigha Hotel and made the ten minute journey to the ferry terminal. Alongside the terminal is Ardminish’s own quaint little beach, acting as a perfect hors d’oeuvres to visitors arriving on the island for the first time as they disembark from the ferry. For me, it was a fond farewell. I was sad to leave beautiful Gigha but I vowed to return. The community is building a network of paths to key landmarks and beauty spots across the island, which when complete will make this and even more attractive little escape … and only 20 minutes from the mainland.
