223. Ayr Beach

The whole country is bathing in a settled dry and sunny spell of weather, and I have an opportunity to make a quick dash to Scotland so I opt to make a first visit to the Isle of Arran, one of my target islands for 2025. Booking the early morning ferry from Troon means I have the chance to visit some local Ayrshire beaches the evening before, so I start my short coastal tour with a walk on Ayr beach.  I’ve been here once before, about ten years ago, but this time I walk to the quieter and much nicer southern end of the long beach, with great views over to Arran, where I will spend the next day.
