223. Ayr Beach

The whole country was bathing in a settled dry and sunny spell of weather, and I had an opportunity to make a quick dash to Scotland so I opted to make a first visit to the Isle of Arran, one of my target islands for 2025. Booking the early morning ferry from Troon meant I had the chance to visit some Ayrshire beaches the evening before, so I started my short coastal tour with a walk on Ayr beach.  I’d been here once before, about ten years ago, but this time I walked to the quieter and much nicer southern end of the long beach, with great views over to Arran, where I would spend the next day.
