133. Crabhadail Beach
As I work my way around the coast following the indistinct path from wonderful Traigh Mheilein, the remote beach of Crabhadail comes into view at the base of Loch Crabhadail and nestled at the foot of some of the highest Harris mountains. I follow the eastern edge of Loch na Cleabhaig until the beach is reached and it’s only now that I fully appreciate how beautiful a spot this is. It’s possibly the remotest beach on Harris and totally idyllic. A smaller beach sits alongside, so take your pick. The route back to Hùisinis is boggy and loose-footed, making me wonder if I should have returned the way I came, via Traigh Mheilein. Still, the whole walk is a Hebridean classic.
