199. Sty Wick
9 September 2024
It was time to head to the south of Sanday as I slowly made my way back towards the ferry terminal. I wish I had more time but Sanday is blessed with stunning beaches around almost every corner and even nine hours isn’t enough time to see them all. A must-see is lovely Sty Wick, a wide sandy bay with high dunes and plenty of drama. Signs point to the Quoyness Chambered Cairn, a 5,000 year old megalithic tomb, which sits just behind the beach and provides easy parking.
