113. Hough Bay
15 May 2023
To the north of the magnificent Tràigh Thorosdail (The Maze) is a jutting headland called Rubha Chraiginis. Beyond that, heading north is Hough Bay, another mile-long westerly-facing beach but less sandy than its neighbour and much more rocky. A long rough track leads to the beach from the village of Hough, where I am surprised to find a small car behind the dunes (having hardly seen anyone so far on any of today’s six previous beaches!). The couple walking their dog soon leave, so I trudge along the shore for a while, past an abandoned rusty digger before returning to continue the circuit.
