The award winning beach at Ruby Bay lies east of Elie village and with the Elie Ness lighthouse at one end. At low tide you can walk all the way from Earlsferry, around Elie harbour and into the bay, but today the tide is in and there’s not a great deal to explore. I should really walk up to the lighthouse but time is pressing and I need to make my way around the coast to St Andrews and beyond.
