270. Leven Beach

This long sandy beach on the southern Fife coast runs from the Leven river in the town up to the Lundin Links golf course. Although the main activity lies at the town end of the beach, with its promenade, caravan park, play area and all mod cons, I choose to enter further up the Largo Road via the beautiful Silverburn Park gardens. It’s a pleasant short walk through the golf course onto the exposed beach with high dunes and golden sand. It’s a blustery day and I take a long invigorating walk along the shore before heading back to Silverburn for a fruit scone and hot chocolate from the window cafe.
