Just along the shore from Acheninver lies beautiful Badenscallie Beach. You can walk from Acheninver but I chose to drive along the road and park at the Badenscallie burial ground which lies just behind the sand and shingle beach. A ruined cottage sits on a low hill to one side, offering magnificent views over to Horse Island and Goat Island and the rest of the Summer Isles.  To the other side of the small bay, prehistoric layered rock formations provide ample evidence of the geological attraction of this historic location.
