82. Ardmair Beach

A long-awaited first beach trip of 2023 and I was so lucky to have selected three days of unbroken sunshine and cloudless skies. I flew into Inverness, picked up a hire car and drove across to Ullapool to begin my beach-combing on the road north towards Assynt.  No more than a few miles outside Ullapool lies the hamlet of Ardmair, with its attractive roadside beach. Backed by a few cottages and a parking lay-by, this popular wide sweeping stony beach looked the part from the road, with the turquoise water contrasting nicely with the bleached white stones. A perfect start to the trip.
