169. Cul na Croise
This is not an easy beach to reach at any time other than low tide. Sitting east of the Singing Sands at Camas an Lighe, this wilderness beach can only be reached (unless the tide is way out) by following a feint and often indistinct path around the headland, over rocks and through gorse bushes and spiky trees. Another route option follows the line of the plantation that runs along this stretch of coast behind the beaches, but this can be boggy and hard to follow. It’s not far but it is arduous and care must be taken. Upon arrival though, the sight of this remote stunning beach is well worth the falls and scratches. With views to die for across to the Small Isles, and perfectly formed dunes, this really is a hidden treasure.
