47. Machrihanish Beach
5 August 2022
As I travel further south along the west coast road of Kintyre, I stop off at Westport Beach, which I visited once before prior to catching the ferry to Islay. Westport’s beach extends a good five miles to the popular coastal village of Machrihanish, at which point somewhere along the way it becomes Machrihanish Beach. I head round to the village, park up and join the beach from the opposite end. Here it’s more rocky than the Westport end, colourful and interesting with its famous golf club bordering the dunes.
