245. Kerrycroy Beach
9 April 2025
The tiny one-street settlement of Kerrycroy, south of Rothesay, boasts a small, rather exclusive beach looking over the water to the mainland, with the remnants of an old quay and plenty of benches giving it a rather enjoyable aspect. The beach is small and runs run up to the private road in front of a village green and a row of attractive Arts & Crafts houses. An information board tells of the history of the village, embedded with “community spirit and innovation”. From here I headed five minutes down the road to briefly visit the rather grand Mount Stuart to try out a cream scone in the cafe.
