234. Catacol Beach
2 April 2025
The tiny settlement of Catacol has an interesting history. The 12 houses that make up the village are known as the ’12 apostles’ and they were originally fishermen’s cottages. Each house has a different shaped upstairs window, apparently so the fishermen’s wives could send candlelight messages to their husbands out to sea. It’s now a well-presented bay with a giant white anchor sitting on the green beside the coast road. Very nice.
