The once thriving cargo port of Blackwaterfoot is now a more a serene seaside village on the south west coast of Arran, with a lovely wide beach running alongside the local golf course up to cliffs at Drumadoon Point and with views over to Kintyre. This is the last sandy beach before the more rocky and rugged west coast of the island, so heading clockwise, as I am, this is a good spot for long beach walk. I take an interest in the lone palm tree that sits at the back of the beach half way along, looking for a nice photo angle, which I just about manage by climbing up a small hill.
