228. Whiting Bay Beach
2 April 2025
Heading clockwise from Lamlash I soon come to the village of Whiting Bay. At the residential end of the bay the beach is largely stony but further north is a stretch of beautiful sand and rock, probably easily missed from the road. I park up at an area called Kings Cross and followed a well-signed track through fields and a wooded area (with handy boardwalk) to emerge onto the stunning beach. This is my first proper walk of the day and it’s still before 9am. As I leave the bay to head clockwise, I take a snap of the beach from the far southern end, looking north to where I have just walked. Best beach on the island? I think so.
