228. Whiting Bay Beach
2 April 2025
Heading clockwise from Lamlash we soon come to the village of Whiting Bay. At the residential end of the bay the beach is largely stony but further north is a stretch of beautiful sand and rock, probably easily missed from the road. I parked up at an area called Kings Cross and followed a well-signed track through fields and a wooded area (with handy boardwalk) to emerge onto the stunning beach. This was my first proper walk of the day and still before 9am. As I left the bay to head clockwise, I took a snap of the beach from the far southern end, looking north to where I had just walked. Best beach on the island? I think so.
