299. New England Bay
9 September 2026
I realise I am heading towards my 300th beach and so the excitement is building as I drive south along the south-eastern coast of the Rhins of Galloway. The A716 follows the shoreline towards Drummore, and I am intending to stop at the named beaches along the way. I come to New England Bay, which has a rocky beach alongside a large caravan park. Despite the presence of the park, the beach here still feels remote and it’s empty apart from a few dog walkers.
