293. Auchenlarie Beach
Every one of the six beaches I’ve visited so far today has been situated adjacent to, or nearby, a caravan, camping or holiday park of some description. This is the first one that can only be reached by walking through the grounds of the park, and it therefore feels like a private beach. This is not uncommon in Scotland and I can recall many similar methods of access. I’m always impressed by how well run and maintained the parks are, and very usually quiet, even at peak times like today. I park at the entrance to the Auchenlarie Holiday Park and walk down the hill the short distance to the beach, which requires a steep descent. I don’t hang about because it’s a tiny beach and some families are enjoying the sunshine, so I take few pictures.
