86. Balchladich Bay
19 April 2023
I follow a twisty single track road heading deeper into the Stoer Peninsula towards the myriad of walking routes that lead up to the Stoer Lighthouse and the iconic Old Man of Stoer. At the tiny hamlet of Balchladich I find another secluded beach with rocks that would keep a geology field trip busy for a week. There are a few holiday cottages here with room to park, and it’s a wonderful beach on which to sit and watch the waves crash against the rocks. As I leave, a couple arrive to walk their dog, the first people I’ve seen since Clachtoll.
