152. Bayble Beach
My four-day trip to the Isles of Lewis and Harris is coming to an end, and after a day spent visiting the beaches of the wild west coast, I make my way back to Stornoway under cloudy skies and patchy rain, much the same as when I had arrived four days before. Fortunately, the three days in between have been clear and sunny, so I am not one to complain. Arriving back in Stornoway around 4pm, I still have time to check out a few of the local beaches I had missed on my rainy first day. I begin by heading over to the area known as Point and the small sandy beach of Traigh Pabail, or Bayble beach. A small stone pier sits alongside the beach, which looks out over to Bayble island and the occasional dolphin (but not today).
