151. Port of Ness Beach
After working my way up the west coast of Lewis and visiting the lighthouse at the Butt of Lewis, it is time to make my way back to Stornoway, where my Hebridean adventure will come to an end. But first I have one more beach to visit at the nearby Port of Ness, with its attractive harbour, cafe and shops. The local beach here is surprisingly wide and sandy, tucked behind the harbour. After a poodle around here I nip into the very popular Breakwater Cafe for a takeaway sandwich. When I step out a few minutes later it’s pouring, probably not an unusual experience in this part of the island. I’m grateful that the rain obligingly held off until I’d visited this final north Lewis beach.
