147. Traigh Chrois

Most of the beaches on Lewis are easily accessible with close parking and a short walk, but here’s a rare hidden gem, off the beaten track and one to keep quiet about. A small parking area at the end of a quiet road in North Dell leads to a track which winds for about a mile through fields to the superb beach of Traigh Chrois. High cliffs, low dunes and a deep sandy beach backed by rocks, this is a totally remote and peaceful spot and well worth the effort to find.
