I’m working my way up the A358 beside the exposed west coast of Lewis, here we find a series of small, cozy beaches, each with their own unique atmosphere and personality.  The curved sand and stone beach at Shawbost is easily served with a car park and picnic table, and with a nice walking track above the low dunes, enabling me to walk from one end of the beach to the other in a little more than 15 minutes. Behind the beach is a loch, which generally adds to the serene, relaxing vibe.
