The largest beach in Lewis, looking across the Minch to the mainland and probably the finest east-facing beach in the Outer Hebrides, Tolsta (Tràigh Mhor) is a beautiful mile-long stretch of golden sand, backed by dunes. Popular with surfers and walkers (although not on this rainy afternoon!) it’s easy to see why this is one of Lewis’s most visited beaches.
