139. Northton Beach
This mega-enjoyable day is reaching its climax and I am growing increasingly tired and hungry. But I still want to explore the beaches near the village of Northton in the south west of Harris, so I decide to stop in Leverburgh for some petrol, an ice cream and plenty of water. Refreshed and refuelled, I set off my final big walk of the day, joining three beaches along the coast from Northton. It’s a beautiful evening and I am excited to be setting out for the final few hours of the day before my drive to Stornoway. I park near Northton beach (Traigh na h-Uidhe) and poodle around this popular village beach a little before following the coast path heading west through the machair.
