139. Northton Beach
12 September 2023
As my day wore on I was growing increasingly tired and hungry, but I wanted to explore the beaches near the village of Northton in the south west of Harris. So I stopped in Leverburgh for some petrol, ice cream and plenty of water. Refreshed and refuelled, I set off my final walk of the day, joining three beaches along the coast from Northton. It was a beautiful evening and I was excited to be setting out for the final few hours of the day before my drive to Stornoway. I parked near Northton beach (Traigh na h-Uidhe) and poodled around this popular village beach a little before following the coast path heading west through the machair.
