It was a bit grey and miserable as I made my way onto the small isle of Burray where I was to base myself for a few nights. But the rain had helped off and I decided to head further down to South Ronaldsay, over Churchill Barrier No 4, to visit the crescent-shaped beach known as Sands O’Wright.  This headland is known as Hoxa and has many enticing walking routes out to Hoxa Head (with more wartime heritage) but with the evening drawing in I contented myself with a walk along the beach.
