194. Bay of Newark
9 September 2024
Heading back up from the thin Tresness peninsula with the Cata Sand lagoon on the left, the beautiful white beach to the right of the massive dunes forms the western end of the Bay of Newark. The walk along this beach reminds me so much of West Beach, Berneray, still the GOAT of all Scottish beaches. As the blue sky chases away the grey clouds and the sun turns the water turquoise, it’s about as exquisite you can get, and I feel so lucky to have had the chance to come to Sanday on such a perfect day.
