Following the road west past Crossapol as I traverse the island clockwise, I reach Soroby (Sorobaidh) Bay, another impressive arc of pure white sand. The road turns inland at the eastern edge of the beach but I find enough room to park at Crossapol Farm for an easy walk onto the beach. The alternative access point is at the other end near the village of Balemartine, where the road re-joins the coast. This, like its neighbour at Crossapol, is a popular beach for surfers and wind-surfers. It’s rocky at both ends, but otherwise pristine white sand in-between. I manage to get a shot of the bay as I leave Tiree from the plane, which gives a good view of this impressive beach.
