105. Scarinish Beach
14 May 2023
Scarinish is the main village on Tiree and although there are small settlements across the island, the main hub is here, with the island council offices, Post Office, Co-Op and police station. I stayed at the excellent Scarinish Beach Hotel right on the harbour front, which has its own small rounded beach. At the centre lies the wreck of Mary Stuart, which has laid up in the harbour for about 80 years and probably doesn’t have many years left in it. A few modern day fishing boats sit at the entrance of the harbour. Further along the road a few more small beaches sit beside the road, so I’ve included them.
