11. Singing Sands
Leaving Kilnaughton Bay I follow the road towards the iconic Carraig Fhada lighthouse. I take a few snaps and then press on around some houses to reach Traigh Bhan, a wonderful little secluded bay commonly known as Singing Sands for the sound that comes from moving your feet over the sand. I’m not sure it’s working for me. A few people are around, so I just sit and watch the horizon. Heading back past the lighthouse, I get a text from Calmac saying my ferry to Colonsay tomorrow is cancelled due to an engineering issue. My heart sinks. It’s a disaster. My mind is turning, going over my options, when I get a second text from Calmac saying to ignore the previous text. The sailing is on! I can’t describe the feeling of relief. It’s time to head off to my B&B. Too much excitement for one day.
