By far the largest of the wonderful beaches on this west coast, Machir Bay is a popular beach just beyond the Kilchoman whiskey distillery. With about a mile and a half of sweeping sands backed by high dunes, it’s easy to see why this place is popular with families and walkers. The grey skies and gathering mist made it difficult to capture the beauty of this beach but it was an invigorating place to walk and ponder.
