252. Tràigh Gharbh

We are almost down into the far south west corner of Coll at this point, and the islands of Gunna and Tiree are almost touching distance across the Sound. The water here is pure turquoise and clear, and it’s as idyllic as you can get if you seek solitude. At the back of the bay is a huge yellow triangular sign saying ‘Power Cable’, as if you could miss it! The OS map describes this as a ‘submarine cable terminus’, whatever that means.
