25. Bay at the Back of the Ocean

After the thrill of exploring the spectacular North End beaches on this bright, sunny morning, I headed back down to the centre of Iona and turned west along the shore road, through the golf course and onto the expansive Bay at the Back of the Ocean (Camas Cuil an t-Saimh). There is so much to see and do on this beach with coloured pebbles, rock pools, and white-sand dunes forming an attractive arc. And the golf course is right behind if that’s your thing. It really is the back of the ocean, as the next stop west is Canada.
