312. Findhorn Beach
It’s a beautiful evening in Moray but the sun is sinking fast so as I leave Lossiemouth I come to the conclusion that I probably won’t have time to visit all the beaches between here and Findhorn Bay at the other end of the county. I am desperate to visit Findhorn Beach, so I decide to head straight there and work my way back eastwards if I have enough daylight. I park at the more remote eastern car park and walk along the top of the high reinforced sea wall towards the main village, whose annual festival is about to start. The tidal estuary here at the mouth of the Findhorn River is truly stunning, stretching for miles. At regular intervals, well-built wooden steps lead down to the beach but it comes easier to access as you get nearer the village. I come to the much-photographed and apparently very prestigious colourful beach huts just as a rainbow appears out to sea so I try my best to capture some atmospheric photos. I walk back along the sand to the car park enjoying the peace and serenity of this spectacular coastline.
