211. Whitesands
29 January 2025
It was past four o’clock and the sun was setting fast as I left Skateraw and headed towards Dunbar but I decided to make a quick call to Whitesands, which sits between two rocky headlands just south of the town. At the southern end is the Barns Ness lighthouse, and it was a lovely walk through the gorse and around the headland to stop at the small beach alongside the lighthouse. Back at Whitesands, I walked along the low dunes and back along the shore as the setting sun turned the sky pink and the wading birds selected their supper.
