322. Ardersier Beach
After visiting Nairn beach I consider running up towards Hopeman to pick up one or two of the Moray beaches I didn’t have time for yesterday, but I decide it’s cutting it too fine before my flight and I will visit the remaining beaches another time. I opt for a quick visit to Brodie Castle, the wonderful National Trust property, gardens and park to have a look around and sit down for a cuppa (and ice cream). So then I head towards the airport and remember I saw reference to a small beach at Ardersier, the tiny hamlet a few miles away, and I decide I’d rather walk on a final beach than sit in a departure lounge. I’m glad I made that call because, although the tide is in and there is no beach as such for me to walk on, it’s still a beautifully peaceful spot with a long walking track stretching across the length of Ardersier Bay. Although barely a beach at all, I still consider this a very fitting way to end a fabulous 48 hours in the Highlands.
