The superb Seaton Cliffs Trail from Arbroath to Auchmithie is spectacular, with stunning views of the red sandstone cliffs, complete with smugglers coves, caves, sea stacks and rock arches. Even on this foggy day, I can hardly see the sea but it’s still a superb walk, and very popular. Fortunately for me, the thick fog is staying local to Arbroath, and at Auchmithie, just a few miles north, normal service of blue skies and sunshine is resumed. The village is set high above 120ft cliffs, with a windy track down to the small bay, with an old harbour at the southern end.
