259. West Links, Arbroath
So this is strange. I’m working my way up the Angus coastline from Monifieth to Montrose and so far the skies are clear and blue. The next stop is the town of Arbroath and the long town centre beach known as West Links. But as I enter the town a thick pile of fog is sitting stubbornly over the sea front. It’s proper pea soup and I can’t see a thing, so I decide to walk part of the popular Seaton Cliffs Nature Trail to see if the mist will clear. This trail is spectacular, even with limited visibility and I walk as far as Carlingheugh Bay, commonly known as The Flairs, before heading back to find the situation in Arbroath is unchanged. I take a little wander on the beach anyway, and I even return here later in the afternoon, but the fog refuses to move all day and the photos below are the best I can manage. By the way, what’s with all the traffic lights in Arbroath?
